New Housing Act Forms

Following the Government’s consultation paper on proposals to amend the rules on the Information timing of rent increases for assured periodic tenancies, certain Regulations have now prescribed two new forms, referred to above.

In future, these new forms will be used in England instead of the current form HA33.

HA33B will be used by landlords who propose a new rent for an assured periodic tenancy where the rent increase will come into force not less than 52 weeks after the start of an assured periodic tenancy.

HA33C will be used by landlords or licensors who propose a new rent or licence fee for an assured agricultural occupancy.

HA33 MAY CONTINUE TO BE USED IN ENGLAND UNTIL 11TH APRIL BUT NOT THEREAFTER. HA33B AND HA33C CAN BE USED FROM 11TH FEBRUARY ONWARDS.

Practitioners in Wales should continue to use HA 33 as the National Assembly will prescribe forms for use in Wales, separately.
